Vegetarian + Keto?

A quick stroll around my website and you’ll notice that I’ve made a definitive effort to represent a variety of dietary categories - paleo, vegetarian, keto, etc. I’m fascinated by pescatarians, vegans, and virtually anyone who can commit to a forever-lifestyle when it comes to food.

Two months ago, I was approached by a global cookbook publisher to write a vegetarian keto cookbook. Ever the skeptic, I was suspicious because I’m neither vegetarian, nor keto. Surely they must be aware...?

When they inferred that they’d vetted my credentials, and felt I would be a great fit for this concept, I thought, “I guess Beyoncé must be unavailable.” Then they shared that they’ve published over 4,000 books; and, every last one is profitable. How? Lots and lots of data.

Just as Tesla is more of an analytics company than an automotive manufacturer, this publisher is an analytics machine, focused on media. In short, they curate bestselling cookbooks because they prove it will sell before it’s written. As I’m under strict NDA, I’m unable to share much more until my cookbook’s release in October 2021. (Yes, my second cookbook is debuting six months after my first!!) So, it’s a fact. The world is asking for vegetarian keto recipes.

And then it hit me. Their motivation for me to write this cookbook isn’t because I’ve committed to a forever-lifestyle. It’s because I’M their primary demographic! Someone who is obviously into low-carb recipes, who has deep-rooted vegetarian tendencies, and a lot of vegetarian friends. A perfect fit!

I’m hungry. Anyone up for Green Chile Stew?
