Crispy Manhattan BBQ Potatoes

 

Crispy well-seasoned potatoes, using my Distilled Manhattan BBQ blend? YES, CHEF!!!

Ingredients

1 pound russet potatoes, peeled and cut into 1 1/2-inch chunks

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

2 1/2 teaspoons salt 

2 tablespoons neutral oil (avocado, canola, or vegetable) 

1 1/2 tablespoons Distilled Manhattan BBQ

Instructions

  1. Bring water to a boil with baking soda and 1/2 teaspoon salt.

  2. Add potatoes and cook 8–10 minutes until the edges soften.

  3. Drain potatoes. Add them back to the pot and shake to rough up the edges.

  4. Place oil on a baking sheet and heat in a 450F oven for ~5 minutes until shimmering.

  5. Toss potatoes in the hot oil and roast 20 minutes.

  6. Combine remaining 2 teaspoons salt and Distilled Manhattan BBQ; set aside. 

  7. Flip potatoes and roast another 15 minutes.

  8. Sprinkle with 1 tablespoon Manhattan BBQ and salt mixture; toss to coat.

  9. Roast another 5–10 minutes to set the seasoning.

  10. Add remaining seasoning, as desired, after roasting, while hot, for extra punch.
